On Wednesday, February 14, students who attended the Scholarship Write-In at the TSU Writing Center got a chance to write and submit for a $1,000 scholarship.
They also got a chance to brainstorm for up to $25,000 scholarship.

The following information is taken verbatim from a handout sent out by campus mail. These scholarships are open only to new and currently enrolled undergraduate TSU students.

Students interested in applying for TSU Foundation scholarships should go to the above website, beginning on Monday, February 19, 2018.
Deadline for applying for scholarships is Saturday, March 31, 2018.
Only on-line applications will be accepted.
All Foundation housed scholarships must be applied for on-line
Scholarship funding is limited and meeting the minimum requirements for a scholarship does not guarantee scholarship selection.
New and currently enrolled undergraduate students may apply.
For questions regarding the scholarship application process, students should contact Dr. Darlene Harris-Vasser at 615-963-5794.
Note: Do not simply fill out the application with minimal information. Include identifying information—for example, mention your position, the name of the organization, and include a brief description of what the organization does.
Here is a made up example:
Organizer—Sunshine Writers, helped to create a writers’ group that met at 6:00 am on Saturdays to spend an hour writing at Frodo’s, a local coffee shop in Birmingham, AL

I recently coached a TSU student who told me that she was going to apply to 100 scholarships. I think she will . . . and in an effort to help other Scholarship Tigers reach for more money, less debt, here is a listing of more than $50,000 in scholarships.
They are divided into scholarships for college students, scholarships for college and high school students, and scholarships for high school students (or future TSU students).

Writing for Scholarships Oct 20 2017
Presentation will be on Friday, Oct 20, 2017, from 2:20-3:15 pm in room 117 computer lab (next door to room 116, the Advisement Center) in the Student Success Center.
In the first five minutes, each student will brainstorm, generating ideas that could be used to apply for the $5,000 Liaison’s Data-Inspired Future Scholarship, deadline for spring semester being October 31, 2017.
This means if students were to enter videos from 30-60 seconds and try for this scholarship, one student would be notified by the end of November 2017 that he or she earned the $5,000, applying that toward college tuition and books for Spring 2018 semester.
