If any links are out of date, google for the most recent information.

If deadlines for scholarships have passed, create a Word document (or other word processing program), cut and paste the link, and put above the link the most likely date it will return next year. For example, the Buick Achievers Scholarship will most likely be open in January 2016 (past deadline: end of February 2015).

Keep this list handy and saved, so you can constantly update it.

Also, if you are an adult returning to college or wishing to enter college for the first time, you can gleam good information from both presentations.

I have uploaded this information, so Tiger Scholars can get a jump start on maximizing their search for money.

Many of the scholarships above have February and March 2015 deadlines.

On January 24, 2015, I gave a presentation at The Temple Church in Nashville, Tennessee, on how to Finance Your College Dream. The audience was made up of students in grades 7^th-12^th, parents, and community leaders.

Here is the scholarship presentation handout for the presentation given by Mike Turner on October 23, 2014.

Open to all Tennessee State University  students. I encourage all students to try out for this scholarship.

If you are a freshman, notice that there are awards of $700 for first; $500 for second; and $300 for third.

If you an upperclass student (30 or more hours), there are awards of $700 for first; $500 for second; and $300 for third.

Even if you do not win, you can learn from those who win and use what you have learned to do better next year.

You can fill out an application and abstract online. You might even ask a person good in writing to check over your material before submitting.

Must be at least 18 or older at time of participation to be eligible for $5,000 Tuition Award and at least 18 but no older than 24, at time of participation to compete in the $100,000 Tuition Contest.

End Date for $100,000 Tuition Contest: October 20, 2014
