$5,000 undergraduate and graduate International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA)scholarships, D: Apr 20, 2026

Selected criteria from webpage:

Open to undergraduate and graduate scholarships who are studying in transportation-related programs (such as civil engineering, city and regional planning, construction management, marketing, business management, accounting, structural engineering, and many more [click on the link above to see other qualifying degrees].

Current undergraduate college students who have completed at least two full semesters of undergraduate coursework at the time of application (24 credit minimum), or graduate students.

Maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

Applicants are also required to submit an essay introducing themselves and addressing the following question: “What transportation challenges do you believe we face over the next decade and how can user-funded transportation systems help address them? How do you see yourself contributing to the future of transportation?” In your response, be sure to reference any transportation-related work history that will help us in our evaluation of your application.”

$10,000 Hyundai Women in STEM Scholarship, five recipients, most likely opens in Mar or Apr 2026, deadline around June 30, 2026

A 500+ word essay on a tech project or initiative question, open to high school seniors and college undergraduates who are female or identify as female, reside in the U.S., and wish to pursue a STEM-related field of education.

The above link takes you to the 2025 question, so you can get an idea of what type of questions are asked.

Here’s an idea for a plan: make weekly appointments in the TSU Writing Center, working on strengthening your writing skills. When the question becomes available, work through several drafts with the writing consultants at TSU reviewing and offering suggestions (I would suggest not focusing on just one writing consultant but using several).

Note: I met a student last semester attending TSU who had received the Taco Bell Live Mas Scholarship. It can be done! Apply even if you have doubts.
