Tiger Scholars Informational Meeting

On Thursday, February 18, 2010, Mr. Turner, who has been giving scholarship seminars since 1996, will be holding a Tiger Scholars Informational Meeting.  The meeting will take place in the Learning Resource Center (LRC), room 123B, from 1:30 pm-2:30 pm.

Tiger Scholars is a group of TSU students dedicated to searching for scholarships, internships, and other opportunities to pay for college debt-free.

If you are a student at Tennessee State University, you can set up an appointment with Mr. Turner to discuss the process of financing your education debt-free by emailing him at mjturner@tnstate.edu.

2009 April Scholarship Write-In Opt-In Form

Please sign up for the Scholarship Write-In.

Session #1 is on Friday, April 22, 2009, 10 am–11 am and
Session #2 is on Friday, April 24, 2009, 10 am–11 am.

Both sessions will occur in the Learning Resource Center, Computer Lab, Room 123B.

Mr. Turner will be your instructor.

You will learn how you can attempt to get $5,000 for 5 hours worth of work.

Session #1 will be dealing with creating a scholarship profile.

Session #2 will be an actual write-in, where you freewrite and brainstorm the beginning of a 250 word answer to the scholarship question.

I am going to present two seminars this Spring 2009 semester of Show Me the Money.

Instead of  long, boring details, you can refer to the PowerPoint presentation given previously plus a Scholarship e-report, which I will be posting later, to learn how to start your search for scholarship money to go to school for little or no debt.

After discussing some scholarship opportunities for about 5-10 minutes, the rest of the session will be a question-answer session, where I will answer your pressing questions.
