First, a reminder of some easier scholarships that only require less than 500 words (some only a few sentences). These are often not tied to any GPA. Second, another reminder about the Taco Bell Live Mas Scholarship and the Ted and Holly Robbins Scholarship.

Ages 16-26, legal resident of the U.S. or the dependent child of an active duty member of the U.S. miliary, no third-party infringement (no company logos on clothing or music heard on the video that is not your own creation, for example)

“Submit a video that addresses these questions:

• What is your passion and how are you currently pursuing it or planning to pursue it?
• How do you plan to use your passion to make your community, country, and/or world, etc. a better place?
• What is your education plan (education program, college, or certificate/degree program) and how will it help you pursue your passion and create positive impact?

$25,000-$38,000 Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) is a DoD Scholarship Program for STEM Students, Deadline: Dec 6, 2024

The Dellums SMART Scholarships, one of the scholarships, is for rising freshmen and high school seniors: “The Dellums SMART Scholarship is for students with no previous college credit who intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Students seeking to attend a historically Black college or university, minority institution, or minority serving institution are particularly encouraged to apply.”

The following description comes from Scholaroo’s description:

“The SMART scholarship program for service is a scholarship for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students currently pursuing a degree in one of the 21 STEM disciplines.

The scholarship offers a reward of $25,000–$38,000 to 300 recipients to assist them with their tuition and school-related expenses.

SMART sponsors undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral study in 21 academic disciplines critical to national security and DoD’s future by providing full tuition, summer internships, a generous stipend, and guaranteed employment at a DoD laboratory or agency. In return, scholars commit to a one-for-one employment commitment at their department of defense (DoD) sponsoring facility after obtaining their degree.”
