Using the Pomodoro Technique to Help You Create Your Zombie Nightmare
If you are having trouble sitting down and writing your response, then set a timer for 25 minutes and just write or even doodle. Make lists. Sketch out pictures. Mind map your response or cluster your response.
After the 25 minutes is up, take a 5-minute break.
Next, see what you have created. Set the timer again, and then write for 25 minutes.
You can use a stopwatch, the timer on your phone, or even go to google.com, type Stopwatch, and use the built-in stopwatch to keep time.
Now, take a 5 minute break.
Keep repeating until you have a workable first draft or a finished creation.
The 25-minute limit is a part of a procedure called the Pomodoro Technique. The interval doesn’t have to be 25 minutes; it could be 20 minutes, 15 minutes, 10 minutes, whatever time works best for you.
Surprisingly, the Wikipedia article does a good job at explaining the Pomodoro Technique: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique
Also, this blog post contains a breakdown of how to use the Pomodoro Technique to study, including informative videos by Barbara Oakley, author of Learning How to Learn: https://annmichaelsen.com/2018/09/22/learning-how-to-learn-and-the-pomodoro-technique/
