$10,000 National STEM Excellence Scholarship Program, D: Apr 28, 2025 (up to 100 awards will be granted)

Selected criteria from the website:

“Only the first 1,500 applications will be accepted, and the application window may close early as a result.

Applicants to the National STEM Excellence Scholarship Program must:

  • Be high school seniors, high school graduates or current college undergraduates in the United States (U.S.) who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire 2025-26 academic year.
  • Be seeking a degree in a STEM related area of study.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.”

Notice the wording, STEM related area of study: I wondered if Nursing would be considered STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) related, and the reply back was YES.

The scholarship wrote back, “When the applicant creates their profile, please make sure they select Science/Technology/Engineering/Math as their “Field of Study” and not “Health and Medicine.” This will allow them to match to the scholarship.”

If you have questions whether your major is STEM-related, contact the scholarship provider via email at stemexcellence@scholarshipamerica.org or call Customer Service at 507-931-0783.

Lesson: If not sure, ask questions.
