Writing Sentences to Apply for Scholarships, Class 1, $1,000 and more scholarships available

On January 24, 2019, we held our first workshop in the 10-week Scholarship Tigers More Money, Less College Debt Workshop Series.


The above handout discusses the basic order of an English sentence (Subject-Verb-Object), how to use participle phrases, how to use absolute phrases, how to use semicolons, and how to correct comma splices and fused sentences.


Write Your Way to Money Handout includes links to three $1,000 3-5 sentence scholarships; a link to about four different scholarship possibilities; more than four different 250 words or less scholarships, the $3,500 College and $5,000 High School—Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Essay Contest, D: Feb. 28, 2019; and the $1,000 Village Bakery Aspire-To-Be Scholarship Program, D: July 31, 2019.

Also, the above handout contains “Where to Find More Scholarships,” the basic websites I go to, to find the scholarships I tell students about.
