“Applicant Eligibility Requirements
◾The Second Chance College Scholarships Contest is open to citizens and aliens legally residing in the USA with High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
◾Scholarship funds are payable to the winner’s college/university or certified trade school in the United States; winner must enroll or already be enrolled for Spring 2018 session.
◾Winner selection is NOT based on financial need, GPA or demographic criteria.
Read complete contest information before applying to the 2nd Chance College Scholarships Contest. Please read all requirements carefully. Entries that do not meet ALL requirements will be automatically disqualified from the contest without notification to the student.”
After reading the rules, you will be directed to the Entry Form, which contains a quiz of 8 questions. Correct applications will be entered into a drawing for a $1,000.

Eligibility
Any legal U.S. resident at least eighteen (18) years old who meets one of the following criteria:
- Currently attending attending high school and will be attending an accredited university or college in the next academic year
- Currently attending an accredited university or college (undergraduate and graduate students are both eligible)
How to Apply
To apply, please submit an application that includes answers to the following questions:
- What have you done that exemplifies one (or more) of Apartment List’s core values? (up to 300 words)
- What is most important to you when choosing a place to call “home”? (up to 150 words)”

SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) Scholarships
Several different scholarships here. Description from Oregon Gear Up Scholarship List: “Scholarships between $1,000-$3,000 for Latino students interested in majoring in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or a related field. Proof of citizenship not required.”
